GOD IS HOLY:
Holiness is the only characteristic of God that is repeated three consecutive times: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts…" (Isa. 6:4). This means complete holiness; there is no darkness in Him at all (cf. 1 John 1:5).
MAN IS A SINNER:
The Bible tells us that the very best things man can do are seen as "filthy rags" in the sight of God (Isa. 64:6). We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are sinners. We are, by our very nature, sinners.
So, since God is holy, and we are sinners, we have a major problem! But…
JESUS CAME AND DIED ON THE CROSS TO SAVE US FROM THE PENALTY OF OUR SINS:
The Word of God says Jesus "came into the world to save sinners" (1 Tim. 1:15). How? The Father laid on Him "the sin of us all" (Isaiah 53:6).
BY FAITH IN JESUS' SACRIFICIAL DEATH ON THE CROSS, AND HIS RESURRECTION, YOU CAN BE SAVED FROM, AND FORGIVEN FOR, ALL YOUR SINS:
The Bible says, "whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16. By faith in Christ He takes upon Himself our sins, and gives us His righteousness. The question is, will you believe?
